Frequently asked questions

I have recently lost someone close to me. Can you help?

Yes. Grief can affect every part of life and can feel overwhelming, confusing, or isolating. I offer a confidential space where you can talk about your loss, process your emotions, and make sense of your experience at your own pace. There is no "right way" to grieve, and support can be valuable whether your loss was recent or many years ago.

I am struggling with anxiety and worry. Can you help?

Yes. Anxiety can show up in many different ways, including overthinking, panic, constant worry, difficulty relaxing, sleep problems, or physical symptoms. Together, we can explore what may be contributing to your anxiety and find ways to help you feel more grounded and supported.

I am going through a major life change and feel lost. Is this something you can help with?

Life transitions such as divorce, retirement, career changes, becoming a parent, children leaving home, illness, or relocation can bring uncertainty and emotional challenges. I offer a space where you can reflect, adjust, and navigate these changes with greater clarity and confidence.

I don't know exactly what is wrong, but I don't feel like myself.

Many people come to me without a clear explanation for how they are feeling. You do not need to have a diagnosis or a specific problem to seek support. If you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or simply not yourself, I can help you explore what may be happening.

I have experienced trauma. Can you help?

Yes. Trauma can affect how we think, feel, relate to others, and experience the world. I offer a safe and supportive environment to explore the impact of difficult experiences and work towards healing at a pace that feels manageable for you.

I am struggling with a relationship. Do you work with relationship difficulties?

Yes. Relationship challenges can affect emotional wellbeing in many ways. Whether the difficulties involve a partner, family member, friend, or colleague, I can help you explore patterns, boundaries, communication, and the impact these relationships are having on your life.

I am caring for a loved one and finding it difficult to cope.

Caring for someone can be rewarding, but it can also be emotionally and physically demanding. Many carers experience stress, exhaustion, guilt, grief, and isolation. I offer a space where your own needs and experiences are heard and supported.

Do I need to be in crisis to come to see you?

No. Many people seek support because they want understanding, self-awareness, or a space to reflect on their lives. You do not need to wait until things feel unmanageable before reaching out.

Do you offer online sessions?

Yes. I offer both online and in-person sessions. Online sessions can be a flexible and effective option for people who prefer to access support from home or who are unable to attend in person.

How do I know if you are the right therapist for me?

Finding the right therapist is important. I welcome initial enquiries and am happy to discuss what brings you to me and answer any questions you may have. A meaningful therapeutic relationship is one of the most important factors in successful therapy.

I have ADHD. Do you work with people who are neurodivergent?

Yes. I work with clients who have ADHD and understand that challenges such as overwhelm, emotional regulation, self-criticism, procrastination, relationship difficulties, and feeling misunderstood can have a significant impact on wellbeing. I offer a supportive space to explore these experiences and develop a greater understanding of yourself.

I think I may have ADHD but have not been formally diagnosed. Can I still come to see you?

Absolutely. You do not need a formal diagnosis to access support. Many people come to me because they recognise traits of ADHD or are struggling with difficulties related to attention, organisation, emotional regulation, or self-esteem. We can explore these experiences together and consider what support may be helpful.

Can I have sessions in Russian?

Yes. I offer sessions in both English and Russian. Speaking in your first language can sometimes make it easier to express emotions, describe experiences, and feel fully understood. You are welcome to choose whichever language feels most comfortable for you.

I speak both English and Russian. Can I switch between languages during sessions?

Yes. Many bilingual clients naturally move between languages depending on what they are talking about and how they are feeling. Sessions can be in English, Russian, or a combination of both, depending on your preferences and needs.
