My work is grounded in trauma-informed and attachment-aware principles. I draw on person-centred, CBT, psychodynamic, and compassion-focused approaches, tailoring the therapy to meet your individual needs.
Bereavement, grief, and loss are a key area of my practice. I have two years’ experience working with Wandsworth Bereavement Service, supporting clients through a range of losses including bereavement, anticipatory grief, sudden or traumatic loss, and major life transitions. I understand that grief can affect every aspect of a person’s life and can feel overwhelming or difficult to navigate. I offer a compassionate and steady space where these experiences can be explored at your own pace.
Compassion is at the heart of my work. I support you in developing a kinder, more understanding relationship with yourself, particularly in moments of self-criticism, emotional pain, or difficulty. I am also ADHD-informed and, with both professional knowledge and lived experience, I adapt my approach to support different ways of thinking, feeling, and relating.
I incorporate mindfulness and body-based awareness, recognising the importance of the connection between mind and body. This may include grounding techniques to support emotional regulation, particularly when working with overwhelm, unresolved trauma, and anxiety.
I am informed by neuroscience and the concept of neuroplasticity, recognising the capacity for change through new experiences and relationships. Within the therapeutic relationship, I aim to offer a reparative and relational space, providing a secure and supportive base where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
Where helpful, I support you in making connections between past and present experiences, allowing for a deeper understanding of patterns, relationships, and emotional responses. I also hold an interest in the existential aspects of therapy, supporting you in exploring meaning, identity, and your place in the world.
I have particular experience supporting clients through bereavement, grief, and major life transitions, including anticipatory loss, chronic illness, and identity changes. I understand that experiences of loss can feel overwhelming and disorienting, and I offer a steady, compassionate presence where these feelings can be explored safely and at your own pace.
I recognise that each person’s experience is shaped by their cultural background, beliefs, and values. Having grown up in a different cultural context, I bring an awareness of how culture, language, and identity influence emotional experience. I work with sensitivity and respect for difference, offering a culturally aware approach that supports meaningful and authentic therapeutic relationships.
Before training as a therapist, my background was in linguistics, and I have experience teaching Russian to people of all ages and levels. I offer therapy sessions in both English and Russian.
Alongside my professional training and experience, I bring an understanding of the transformative potential of therapy from my own personal journey. I aim to offer a genuine, non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported. I believe that healing happens within a safe therapeutic relationship.
